This candidate will assist in the identification and education of students with special health problems which affect learning and growth. This candidate will provide emergency care in case of injury or sudden illness.
This candidate will be able to provide necessary information on frequently encountered health problems such as child neglect, abuse, drug abuse, nutrition and adolescent pregnancy.This individual will work under the general supervision of the Building Principal, School Nurse Department Head, and/or another designated administrator. IDEAL CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate should: Be an energetic, motivated individual to work collaboratively with school administration, staff, parents and students to meet the needs of student health.QUALIFICATIONSSchool Nursing experience preferred.Ability to manage crisis situations in a public school setting.Knowledge of comprehensive school health and public health issuesPediatric or child health experience preferred.Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are a must.JOB REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Nursing required.MA R.N.
