Position Overview: Procurement Manager
As the Procurement Manager you are in a leadership role that exists to help deliver measurable efficiencies in a challenging economic climate through a professional service provided to the rest of the organization. This pivotal role requires you to lead a team that focuses on strategic supplier partnerships and optimized procurement processes for equipment manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
Supplier Strategy: Identify, assess, and onboard suppliers that align with our new equipment-centric procurement approach. Establish and nurture strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a robust and reliable supply chain.
Equipment Components: Oversee the procurement of components required for equipment assembly. Collaborate closely with engineering teams to understand technical requirements and specifications.
Commercial and Raw Materials: Manage the procurement of commercial components and raw materials integral to our equipment manufacturing. Skillfully negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to optimize costs without compromising on quality.
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and operations, to shape a procurement strategy that aligns with our overall business objectives. Contribute to the development of a forward-looking procurement roadmap to lead and achieve cost reduction targets.
Process Optimization: Continuously enhance our procurement process through the implementation of best practices and innovative technologies. Streamline procurement workflows for greater efficiency.
Employee Development: Selects, develops, and evaluates the team members of the purchasing and materials management team to ensure efficient operation of the function.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Five years of progressive experience in procurement, with a distinct focus on equipment-related procurement.
  • Proven expertise in supplier development, negotiation, and the management of supplier relationships.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strategic mindset with a comprehensive understanding of procurement trends and best practices.
  • Ability to evaluate and report on KPIs of RAW and WIP inventory accuracies, shipping costs, supplier performance.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and report writing skills.
