Laborer - Roadsaw

Position Description

Hours: Flexible schedule required; may have early mornings and nights

Reports to: Utility Coordinator

Job Location: 3500 Alum Creek Drive; various jobsites

Summary: This is a Union Laborer position. Laborers work on different types of construction projects. Laborers’ work requires various skills and experience. Our Laborers consistently perform as construction professionals by delivering quality work, being prompt, following all safety policies and procedures, and positively communicating to work safely, skillfully, and productively to help build work per plan. Our Laborers consistently demonstrate Integrity, Gratitude, Excellence, and Leadership.

Examples of Work:

(This position may not include every example listed, nor do the examples cover all duties that may be performed. The work a Laborer may perform is within the scope of the agreement with the Laborers Union.)

• Reports to 3500 Alum Creek Drive each morning and is dispatched to various jobsites throughout the day;
• Operates a Roadsaw with up to a 36” blade;
• Responsible for ensuring that the saw is in operational condition;
• Communicates with supervision regarding training and safety equipment uncertainty;
• Communicate with jobsite supervision regarding layout and coordination of saw cuts;
• Ability to recognize, communicate, and assist with mitigating potential hazards (utility conflicts, MOT concerns, etc.);
• Ability to work independently;
• Ability to work outside in all types of conditions;
• Self-motivated;
• Know and adhere to all company policies and procedures;
• Other duties as assigned.

Any deviation of job responsibilities must be first cleared by the Utility Coordinator.

Experience/Education/Skills

• At least 18 years of age
• Must be able to pass a drug screening
• Must have a valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
• Must have a motor vehicle record that satisfies the company’s insurance requirements
