GENERAL SUMMARY:
The maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) Purchaser is responsible for the preparation and issuance of purchase orders for products and services that are used to maintain and fix broken machine while considering cost-effective solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
Responsible for maintaining and purchasing the M&R inventory and stores.
- Manage inventory system (eMaint) for maintenance department.
- Perform direct purchases (spot buy) for non-inventory items as required using eMaint.
- Communicate with vendors to determine parts lead time, costs, order status as needed.
- Work with maintenance planner/scheduler to ensure proper ordering of parts and supplies.
- Review weekly shortage reports for inventory.
- Run reconciliation report to improve inventory accuracy.
- Order M&R parts/supplies as needed.
- Managing critical spares and inventory for the process.
- Enter orders into purchasing system (eMaint & SAP).
- Issue purchase orders to vendors/suppliers.
- Develop and review purchasing exception report for late orders.
- Work with vendors/suppliers for M&R parts/supplies and ensure orders are correct and items arrive on time.
- Work with vendors/suppliers to ensure payments are timely according to payment terms.
- Run open order report weekly to verify delivery of parts.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Manufacturing or related field required.
- 2-4 years’ experience of SAP/Inventory knowledge
- Ability to work effectively at all levels including plant leadership team, front line leadership, and employees.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SAP applications for creation of work notifications and tracking of work orders.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Regularly performs repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Regularly remains in a stationary position (ex: standing or sitting) for prolonged periods.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly use safety equipment as dictated by the work area, such as: safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc.
- Regularly exposed to moderate noise levels.
- Occasionally exposed to high noise levels.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, vibration, and non-hazardous chemical agents.
- Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
