We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer -Vibration Isolation System (VIS) to join the team with JETS II TeammateCompany, GeoControl Systems, Inc.

**This is a temporary role to not exceed fiscal year ofSeptember 30, 2024**

The VIS Project Engineer will: - Provide test support.

  • Organize VIS inventory.
  • Assist with cycle testing, including preparation and closure of test paperwork.
  • Coordinate with test facilities (i.e. Vibration Test Facility) as needed.
  • Coordinate flight logistics as the VIS is prepared for launch to the International Space Station (ISS).
  • Maintain and ensure baseline test configuration and document any configuration changes.
  • Generate essential paperwork and documents for tasks assigned, such as Task Performance Sheets (TPS), Discrepancy Reports (DR), and Detailed Test Procedures (DTP), as needed.
  • Work in a collaborative, team environment and report to project manager for technical support, task assignment, and processes.
  • Plan and execute hardware troubleshooting to investigate mechanical failures within hardware or test support hardware.
  • Perform job functions based on pre-established guidelines or instructions.

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering with experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Experience with hardware testing. - Ability to work autonomously when required.
  • Self-motivated, team player with adaptability to a dynamic environment and the ability to complete all assignments as required.
  • Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings.
  • Must have the ability to visualize and work with complex mechanical systems and work with others in problem solving as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.

Requisition Preferences: -

  • Experience with the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of space hardware.
  • Experience with NASA JSC Flight Hardware Life Cycle, Certification, and Engineering processes.
  • Familiarity with common hand tools and proficiency using them to perform assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting on electrical systems.
  • Prior experience with hardware anomaly troubleshooting and failure analysis.
  • Experience with procedure development. - Co-op or Intern experience at JSC or another NASA agency.
  • Familiarity with the Engineering Life Cycle process. - Prior experience working and coordinating requirements with third party/outside Vendors.
