Position: Live-Out Full-time Nanny

Location: Portola Valley (soon to be moving to Woodside, CA)

Start Date: As soon as they find the right fit!

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 5:30 pm with flexibility for occasional week-day travel with the family (3-4 times per year, with advanced notice)

Children: Two delightful girls, aged 5.5 years and 3.5 years

Compensation: $45-50 per hour plus full health benefits, a 401k, & educational development reimbursement

About Us: Welcome to our warm and loving family! We currently reside in beautiful Portola Valley and are excitedly preparing to move to our new home in the picturesque Woodside, California. With our third child on the way, our two existing nannies will primarily care for the newborn, making you an invaluable part of our team and children's lives.

Your Role: Your primary responsibility will be caring for our two wonderful girls, aged 5.5 and 3.5, who are currently attending kindergarten and preschool. The youngest has preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays, just half days. You'll be instrumental in getting them ready for school, dropping them off, and coordinating their after-school activities.

Family Environment: Although we are both full-time working professionals we are a close-knit and welcoming family where family is at the forefront of our values. We take a proactive role in our children’s lives and development. We have enjoyed working with our caregivers to help create a cohesive environment in our home and appreciate the love and generosity of those relationships over the years. Both of our current nannies have been with us for several years and we look forward to introducing a new member of the team!

Educational Emphasis: Education is a top priority for us, and we're seeking a candidate who can further our girls' educational development outside of the classroom. Preferably, you'll have a degree or relevant training in child development or the educational space.

Travel: We enjoy trips to our second home in Tahoe and may venture to other locations as well. We are looking for someone that is happy to travel with us during school breaks during Winter, Spring, and the Summer seasons.

Home Details: Our home has a swimming pool, so being comfortable in the water is a must. We also have an adorable hypoallergenic dog, so someone pet-friendly is essential. Housekeeping and meal preparation are for the most part already taken care of. The care and educational needs of the two older children are at the forefront of this position.

Finding the Best Fit: We are looking for a results-focused, team player who can help our girls make progress in their social, emotional, and educational development. Initiative and self-motivation are valued traits in our nanny. We appreciate someone with conviction and a Type-A personality, who can take the lead when needed. A family car is provided while on duty.

Requirements:

• Ages of children: 6, 4, and a 2-month-old infant. This is a team-minded role, and the nanny will be supported by other nannies, staff, and parents.

• Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find a great fit

• Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 50 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 7am to 5pm. Additional hours for evenings, weekends, and travel will be asked for in advance and appreciated.

• This position is ideal for someone who can support the children’s academic development alongside nurturing their social and emotional development. Someone who has experience working on a nanny team and in a fully-staffed home will be valued.

• Responsibilities include supporting morning and after-school routines, homework help, driving to and from activities, and engaging in educationally and developmentally appropriate play and activities. Candidates must be able to travel with the family and maintain organization, routines, and task management both at home and while traveling. This role requires communicating with other team members, sharing meal prep and grocery shopping, light pet care, and supporting the children in tidying up after themselves.

• While not a requirement for this role, the family would love to work with a nanny who enjoys swimming, skiing, and traveling, and who possesses Bachelor’s degree in an education-related field or teaching credentials with elementary-aged children.

• A minimum of 5 years of recent, professional experience

• Strong English communication skills

• Strong references from past employers

• Willing to pass two background checks

• Ability to make at least a 2-4 year minimum commitment

• U.S. Citizen /Work Authorization

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record CPR Certification if applicable

• Currently updated vaccinations including flu, Tdap, proof of Covid 19 Boosters
