Summary of Duties:

The Dental Assistant is a critical part of the team. This role is responsible for assisting the dentist in the clinical treatment of patients and other tasks as necessary to ensure a positive, professional work environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Prepare the treatment room for the planned treatment.
• Greet patients and seat them in a timely manner.
• Prepare the patient for the prescribe treatment, answer any questions, take blood pressure according to guidelines,
• Ensure financial obligations are discussed, approved, and documented prior to starting treatment.
• Ensure treatment consent forms are discussed, signed, and dated prior to treatment.
• Assist the dentist in completing treatment for patients.
• Assist in the entry of clinical notes in the patient’s record.
• Maintain protocols for sterilization and cleaning of equipment and treatment rooms.
• Assist with sterilization.
• Follow all OSHA, CDC, Radiation Safety, Emergency/Disaster, and Fraud, Waste and Abuse protocols.
• Follow HIPAA security & privacy requirements.
• Maintain CE requirements as defined by the MN Board of Dentistry
• Treat all patients and co-workers with respect and dignity.

Qualifications

• Minnesota Dental Assisting Licensure.
• Current CPR certification in American Heart Association, Basic Life Support for the healthcare providers.
• High degree of skill assisting and anticipating the needs of the dentist.
• Experience in digital radiographs and electronic patient records.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentist, and coworkers.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, reinforce treatment needs and comfort patients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $27.00 per hour
