Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients. Your main responsibilities will include assisting the dentist/hygienist during procedures, preparing treatment rooms, and ensuring the comfort of patients.

Responsibilities:

- Assist the dentist or hygienist during dental procedures, including general dentistry, periodontal and oral surgery

- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for use

- Take dental x-rays as directed by the dentist

- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist by passing instruments, suctioning, and providing oral evacuation

- Perform dental charting and maintain accurate patient records

- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions

- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines and ensure patient confidentiality

- Follow aseptic techniques to prevent the spread of infection

Experience:

- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or relevant role

- Proficient in medical documentation software such as Dentrix or similar systems

- Knowledge of patient assessment procedures

- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and guidelines for handling medical records

- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide compassionate patient care
