Gensler is Hiring an Interior Designer - Sports & Entertainment - Senior Near Austin, TX

Your Role
As a Senior Interior Designer with Gensler's Sports practice, you are passionate about your craft and combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You have exceptional conceptual design skills, a background in interior or design, and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. It's your job to contribute to a team of designers to deliver unparalleled sports facilities.

Our depth of expertise spans disciplines-from sports facilities, training centers, and convention centers to education, hospitality, retail, workplaces and more.

What You Will Do

  • Team leader of interior design projects that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning and construction documentation

  • Engage in marketing and business development efforts

  • Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting

  • Generate finish plans, specifications, and material selections needed for construction

  • Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts

  • Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators

  • Integrate new technology and tools on projects (AR, VR, computational design, etc.)

  • Foster and cultivate a culture of design of the office and strives to elevate design quality on projects. Inspires and mentors teams.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design

  • NCIDQ/CID required

  • 10 years of interior design experience

  • Demonstrated success delivering sports related facilities (training facilities, arenas, stadiums, ballparks, etc.)

  • Passion and excitement for sports related projects

  • Comfortable in Revit, SketchUp, 3D Studio Max and other modeling software programs

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

  • Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications

  • Graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas

  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview
