Job Description:
As a Host/Cashier at Chat Genie Café, you will be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests while also ensuring efficient and accurate transactions at the cashier station. Your main responsibilities will include:

Host:

• Greeting guests warmly as they enter the café and seating them at their tables.
• Managing the waitlist during busy periods and estimating wait times for guests.
• Providing menus and answering any questions about menu items or café policies.
• Assisting with coordinating seating arrangements and optimizing table turnover.
• Monitoring the dining area to ensure all guests are attended to and have everything they need.

Cashier:

• Greeting customers warmly as they approach the cashier station and assisting them with placing orders.
• Ringing up purchases accurately and processing payments, including cash, credit card, and mobile transactions.
• Providing information to customers about menu items, specials, and promotions.
• Assisting with food preparation, including assembling sandwiches, salads, and pastries.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization at the cashier station, including keeping the area tidy and stocked with supplies.
• Assisting with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down equipment, cleaning tasks, and restocking supplies.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and outgoing demeanor.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and move around the café comfortably.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of coffee and café menu items preferred but not required.
• Enthusiasm for providing exceptional customer service and creating memorable experiences for guests.
• Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, especially during busy periods.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
