RN (Registered Nurse) for Medical-Surgical Float in the Hospital - Travel/Local Contract

Responsibilities:

• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals.
• Evaluating medical information, as well as providing direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre and post-surgery patients.

Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Illinois
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical/surgical setting
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic)
- Strong knowledge of medical office standards and best practices
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

- BLS certification (AHA) - Covid Exempts Accepted

Job Summary:

- Assist with various medical procedures such as catheterization, tube feeding, and wound care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient information in electronic health records (EHR)
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe patient environment
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families during challenging times
