Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. The RN-ICU will provide expert care for critically ill patients requiring close monitoring and specialized treatment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients, recognizing and interpreting cardiac rhythms, ventilator settings, and other advanced monitoring parameters.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, carefully monitoring responses and adjusting interventions as necessary.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients in the ICU.
• Perform advanced nursing interventions, including but not limited to hemodynamic monitoring, arterial lines, central venous catheters, and mechanical ventilation.
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families, explaining complex medical conditions and treatment plans in a compassionate and understandable manner.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and comprehensively in electronic health records (EHRs) or medical charts, adhering to regulatory and organizational standards.
• Respond to medical emergencies and codes within the ICU, providing efficient and effective care to stabilize patients.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary team meetings to enhance patient care and promote patient safety and satisfaction.
• Adhere to infection control policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients and healthcare team members.
• Maintain current knowledge and competencies in critical care nursing through ongoing professional development and continuing education.

Qualifications:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of MD
• Minimum of [2] years of nursing experience in an ICU setting.
• BLS and ACLS certification required. Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment, prioritizing patient safety and quality of care.
