General Manager

We are looking for a highly enthusiastic, hands-on individual to join our management team as General Manager. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, be highly ambitious, detailed oriented and be able to work in a fast-paced setting. They must also have food and beverage experience, and understand the Sales process. This individual must be able to work in a collaborative team environment. Job Overview

The General Manager is responsible for continually focusing on achieving hotel profitability through revenue generation, cost control, guest satisfaction and developing employees while maintain the integrity of the hotel.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position includes all aspects of the Hotel operations including but not limited to the following:

• Ensures compliance with the company and franchise standards for personnel administration and performance, service to patrons, and room rates.• Delivers outstanding guest service and financial performance.• Delegates authority and assigns responsibility to all employees: supervises work activities of all employees.• Ensure staff receives proper training for each position, including safety training and standard operating procedures. • Ensuring that all training required by brand standards are adhered to.• Monitors cost controls for each department on a regular basis.• Oversee and assist in the duties of a Sales and Marketing Team as needed including making sales calls; attending community business functions; working with travel agents, tour operators, direct bill accounts; and coordinate sales promotions, just to mention a few areas.• Daily property walks where you are engaging all back of house team members and ensuring the physical building is up to the property and brand standards.• Inspects guests’ rooms, public access areas, and outside grounds for cleanliness and appearance.• Reviewing daily administrative tasks.• Reviewing guest folios and night audit reports.• Ability to read and review financial statements.• Resolving guest and employee concerns with strong problem resolution skills.• Develop an operational budget and monitoring cost controls.• Plus – Understanding Visual Matrix property management system.• Plus – Understand Microsoft 365 - word, excel, outlook and teams.

Required Skills

• A minimum of two years’ experience as a full-service hotel General Manager is required.• The ideal candidate will have a sound background in sales, food & beverage, operations, yield management, financial reporting, and delegation.• Highly energetic and motivated individual.• Must have strong leadership skills• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong customer/client focus essential• Self-Starter with ability to work independently and as a team.• Strong problem-solving skills• Excellent written communication skills.• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.• Ability to shift and manage multiple priorities.• Results driven focus and ability to work through to completion in a timely manner.• Adaptable to change.• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products to include, but not limited to Excel and Outlook.• Visual Matrix property management system knowledge a plus• High level of flexibility regarding overtime during times busy periods as required by the business.

Salary: $ 60,000 to $85,000 per year
