Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated referral specialist / front desk coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate MUST have at least 2 years experience in a medical office. Must be able to generate referrals in an efficient manner as well as assisting with front desk administrative duties.

Referral Specialist Responsibilities:

• Coordinate patient referrals to specialists, hospitals and other healthcare providers
• Ensure accurate documentation of referral information in patient records
• Communicate with patients, providers and insurance companies regarding referral status
• Fax/Email referrals to physicians and facilities in a timely manner

Front Desk Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and courteous manner
• Assist with the check in/check out process of patients
• Answering phones, returning phone calls, direct all calls to the appropriate department
• Collecting copays
• Scheduling/rescheduling patient appointments
• Taking accurate messages
• Scanning/filing all patient records while maintaining patient records and ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPPA regulations

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of medical office experience
• Knowledge of ICD-10 coding
• Knowledge of HIPPA regulations and patient privacy laws
• Experience with Availity

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
