The Area Clinical Practice Manager is responsible for the management of their NP/PA team, including personnel management and supervision. The Area Clinical Practice Manager manages and supports advanced practice providers in their professional development, ensuring all clinical standards are met. They work in identifying, measuring and evaluating individual and center-level outcomes.
This is a hybrid position with some travel to centers located throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and part of New Hampshire.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Team Management:
1. Responsible for the oversight and supervision of the regional NP/PAs
a.Participate in the recruitment, hiring, orientation, mentoring, and evaluation of regional NPs.
b.Oversee advanced clinical practice, including collaboration with NP/PA and supervising MDs, to ensure appropriate clinical practice standards, guidelines, and protocols
c.Ensure professional growth and development opportunities for NP/PAs
d.Conduct annual performance reviews
2. Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Operations and other Area Clinical Practice Managers in the development and implementation of the annual strategic plan and goals.
3. Review and track Genesis Outcomes Scorecard, and NP/PA quarterly productivity reports for appropriate centers and practitioners.
4. Develop and Implement plan with NP/PAs to positively impact clinical goals, scorecard, and quarterly productivity reports.
5. Assess the educational needs of the regional NP/PAs. Plan, coordinate, present, facilitate, and evaluate educational sessions to support the continuing professional development of advanced practice nurses and physician assistants. Apply for and obtain educational contact hours for educational sessions through Genesis Clinical Education
6. Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Operations in providing continued leadership development via the Team Leader model for the department. This will include coaching, mentoring, and professional development of NP/PAs.
7. Mentor and support NP/PAs in preparing / delivering educational presentations for nurses at the center.
8. Provide leadership in support of accreditation, program certification and regulatory activities of the organization, including but not limited to JCAHO, CMS, Patient Safety programs and others identified by the center or department.
9. Serve as an expert resource to regional Genesis leadership about NP/PA requirements for practice, licensing, regulatory and compliance requirements, policies and procedures, scope of practice, Board of Nursing and Medical Board rules - regulations, credentialing and certifications.
10. Role model advanced clinical practice through conduct, appearance, communication, mutual respect - diversity, positive change, leadership, ethical decision-making, critical thinking, and problem- solving skills.
11. Maintain own licensure, clinical competencies and skills, and all requirements to provide evidence-based clinical practice if needed to support a specific clinical area.
NPL1
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant must be a graduate of an accredited program and be a licensed and certified as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant and have a formal education in the area of Gerontology.
2. A minimum of two years experience working with adult or geriatric population desired.
3. Supervisory experience is desired.
