Pharmacy Cashier Job Summary:

Pharmacy cashier responsibilities include greeting customers, answering their queries, and ensuring that transactions are processed efficiently. In your downtime, you may also be required to help the store manager with restocking shelves and taking inventory. Your primary goal is to provide excellent customer service to our patrons. While previous experience in customer service or retail is a plus, we are willing to train the right candidate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process payments via cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits using the Front Register Cashier system.

• Greet and serve customers in a timely, friendly, and professional.

• Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.

• Keep accurate records of monetary exchanges, authorization forms, and transaction reconciliations.

• Answer telephones and respond to questions or requests.

• Assist customers by answering simple questions, locating items, or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information.

• Follow all policies and procedures related to the 340B drug program and any drug assistance programs in which the pharmacy participates.

• Possess basic knowledge of the functions of pharmacy computer systems, including “workflow.”

• Be proficient in the Prescription bagging system.

• Be able to generate a courier manifest.

• Know the proper pharmacy closing procedure, including the restocking process.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
