Title: Engineering Team Lead – Mechanical / StructuralLocation: Green River, WY Key Responsibilities: Safety results, including direct reports and contractorsAssist recruitment and onboarding college graduates or contract project managers/engineersProvide direction and develop direct reports individual growth, setting expectations to meet department standardsProjects and designs compliant with process safety, ergonomics, MOC, MSHA, OSHA, ISO, engineering standards, Capital Deployment Process (CDP,) regulatory requirements, and applicable codes creating consistency across facilityEngineering/process standards development and complianceDevelop solutions to project engineering challengesSite engineering resource and provide disciplinary support to project engineering team and lead supervised team including Subject Matter Expert (SME) services across capital teamTechnical leadership in discipline or within project management sphereAssist project engineering in development of short and long-term technical planning, capital asset planning, and overall capital planningLead Continuous Cost Improvement (CCI) program within engineering teamQA/QC of technical documentation of project/construction work packagesOther duties may be assigned including owner of CDP, CCI, engineering standards, etc. Activities: Coordinate and ensure projects comply with process safety, ergonomics, MOC, MSHA, OSHA, ISO, engineering standards, Capital Deployment Process (CDP), regulatory requirements, and applicable codes creating consistency across facilityManage safety performance within team including safety meetings, safety focus, and safety trainingLead performance management process and training for direct reportsProvide direction and developmental opportunities to reportsDefine scope of capital projects within team to optimize project execution and capital efficiencyReview of design, drawing, and specification documents for capital efficiencyIdentify and implement opportunities to reduce costs and enhance projects for capital efficiencyPrioritize work and projects with the Project Engineering ManagerResolve conflicts, including employee issues, opportunities, and safety concerns to optimize employee engagement Skill, Capability and Educational Requirements: BS in discipline relevant to team; or relevant experience in leading multidisciplinary engineering teams10 year experience preferred in engineering team lead disciplineMinimum 1 year supervisory experienceOperationally focused, business drivenCoaching experience and interest, skilled in directing a team and performance managementWorking knowledge of scheduling software – Microsoft Project preferredHighly organized, self-driven; goal orientedHighly proficient in project sequence, planning, and executionDatabase (Access/SQL), Power BI knowledge desired Final determination on pay and grade will be made by HR and company leadership holistically considering the candidate’s education, experience, past performance, demonstrated leadership and influence.
