Data Governance Analyst will be responsible for working with various enterprise level and local data management governance, data architecture, data engineering/development, and data quality teams. They will contribute to efforts to capture and manage data dictionaries/catalogue, data lineage, and all forms of business, technical and operational metadata within the Metadata Repository.Additionally, role will support data use governance activities, adherence to Enterprise Data Management policies, and data quality issue tracking and resolution activities.This role will be responsible for various governance routines and expected to setup and run meetings, communicate well both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization, govern and ensure completion of
deliverables other stakeholders are assigned for enterprise adherence requirements, escalate issues to manager when needed, and help create new or improve existing data governance routines, processes, templates, etc.
Responsibilities will include:
Lead data governance guidance and support efforts for business process and control owners.
Ability to understand business processes, risks, and controls and how to use data governance practices to ensure compliance to Enterprise Data Management policies.
Provide data governance and management support of critical data use in metrics and reporting.
Understand and support application owners adherence with global records management policy.
Work closely with data owners in the identification and documentation of business and technical metadata.
Ensure quality and integrity of metadata.
Identify data quality or policy adherence issues and escalate accordingly.
Manage data incidents through to remediation.
Creating/designing Visio diagrams and process flows
Must Have Experience and Senior level skills:
10 years in roles that demand critical thinking and problem solving.
5 years' experience in roles requiring strong technical and analytical skills (not developer roles)
5 years' experience in data governance and/or metadata management
Required Soft Skills (5 years professional experience)
Proven experience in pro-actively managing processes, routines, and deliverables (even with deliverables assigned to others)
Must be able to work independently on initiatives with little oversight.
Must be motivated and willing to learn and be self-driven to ramp up and learn what is needed for the role.
Must have exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are needed to gain cooperation from various stakeholders.
Strong ability to organize, prioritize, and dive into details without having to be told to.
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
