Genesis Center, a nonprofit organization whose mission is “to provide the highest quality education, job training and support services to people of diverse cultures so that they may achieve economic independence and participate fully in society,” is seeking a full-time General Manager / Instructor for the Culinary Hub of Providence (37.5 hours per week) to deliver instruction for its Culinary Training Program. The position will start in May 2024.

The Culinary Hub of Providence is a new social enterprise being launched by the Genesis Center’s dynamic team to develop and launch a restaurant in downtown Providence that will implement a mission-driven, client-centered, and outcome-focused training curriculum. The curriculum will facilitate acquisition of skills and competencies required for a career in RI's diverse hospitality industry. The General Manager / Instructor will collaborate with the Center’s workforce development team to deliver comprehensive programming that supports adults in gaining the occupational, academic, employment, and interpersonal skills that they will need to obtain employment and advance in a career pathway as well as oversee the daily operations of the restaurant.

We are seeking an experienced professional with at least 1 year of restaurant management experience. Experience in providing education or training to adults is also preferred. The ideal candidate should possess thorough knowledge of restaurant operations. Candidates should also have experience working with diverse populations and sensitivity and commitment to the Genesis Center mission, which includes an understanding and appreciation of special problems and stressors of refugee and immigrant families.

Bachelors Degree preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
