ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assure the Safety and Security of patrons, visitors and employees of the Genesee Brew House.
• Monitor the Brew House parking lot on foot and with the Security Vehicle provided by the Security Department of the Genesee Brewing Company. Lock front door and Beergarden doors at closing times.
• Respond quickly and appropriately to medical and facility emergencies.
• Assure patrons, visitors and employees enter/exit the Brew House parking lot and building safely.
• Perform Security rounds moving from the first floor which is retail, tasting bar and the greeter station, to the second floor which is the restaurant and the third floor which is the roof area. Constant monitoring of the parking lot via foot patrols and the Security vehicle are required twice an hour.
• Your home base is at the greeter station. Your number one responsibility is to make yourself visible.
• First Responder for emergency situations. Must be able to respond quickly to situations anywhere throughout the Brew House.
• Accurately maintain daily activity logs and incident reports.
• Loss prevention for the retail area of the Genesee Brew House. Watch for shoplifters.
• Assist Brew House management in requesting unruly patrons leave the premises.
• Check in with Brewery Security staff to pick up your radio and vehicle keys and get an update of anything critical for you to know for your Brew House shift.
• Provide security for Brew House community events and TIF Program if needed. Traffic control, limiting gate access to brewery campus. Communication to employees.
• This position reports to the Brew House FOH Manager and the brewery Security Supervisor.
• Be visible, friendly and approachable to patrons.
• Other duties as assigned.

• 2 years of Security experience
• NYS Security License
• NYS Driver’s License
• First Responder, AED, and BAT certifications
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice is a plus
• Ability to assess and diffuse contentious situations; confront employees, patrons, contractors, and pedestrians; and maintain strict confidentiality
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

• Extensive walking is required during each shift. Responsible for walking all three floors of the restaurant and the parking lot.
• Must be able to physically respond to emergencies anywhere throughout the Brew House.
• Must wear assigned Security shirt and be easily identified as a Security Guard for the Brew House.

The starting pay rate for this position is $18/hr, not including opportunities for overtime and shift premiums.
