Communications, Events, and Product Development Coordinator

  • Job Location: GreaterDenver area
  • Remote vs. In-person: Hybrid with occasional travel
  • Full Time (~30-40 hrs a week)
  • Salary: Compensation - $50,000 and up, depending on experience
  • Goal Date to Hire By: May 1, 2024

JOB PURPOSE

The Communications, Events, and Product Development Coordinator will play an essential role in supporting GSN’s efforts across our four areas of work to grow our voice and brand in local and national audiences. Additionally, the Communications, Events, and Product Development Coordinator is essential in helping provide resources and support on a regular basis to our team of committed educational leaders who lead critical work in our partner schools. This position is ideal for a creative, driven, self-directed, and organized individual, who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment, and who embodies GSN’s mission and values. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Communications

○ Collaborate with the Communications Director to ensure GSN's brand voice and style guide is maintained across all communication materials.

○ Develop and distribute regular communications to GSN staff, partners, and stakeholders.

○ Bring creative and engaging ideas to the communications team as a contributing member.

○ Assist with special communications projects to mark upcoming milestones: the 10th Anniversary of the CREC and 20th Anniversary of GSN, passage of critical legislation, etc.

○ Assist with ongoing graphic design requests as well as larger graphic design projects such as Annual Reports and Promotional Materials.

○ Learn GSN’s contact management system (Active Campaign) and support with email marketing campaigns and email automations in partnership with the Director.

Social Media and Websites

○ Maintain and continue to develop a comprehensive social media content strategy across the organization’s channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram) that aligns with brand’s goals and resonates with our target audience.

○ Engage with our audiences across social channels by monitoring activity, fostering meaningful conversations with followers, responding promptly to comments and messages.

○ Optimize video content on our YouTube channel with SEO best practices, compelling thumbnails, and attention-grabbing titles.

○ Analyze performance metrics with the Director to evaluate social strategy effectiveness across all channels, using those insights to optimize content strategies.

○ Support regular content updates to existing websites (approximately 10), including weekly posts to our job board.

Event Support

○ Work alongside the staff to successfully execute GSN internal and external events.

○ Be available to support onsite events to document events with photos and videos, as well as capture testimonials.

○ Create events through our Eventbrite and Zoom platforms and monitor registrations.

○ Promote our events by submitting content to media outlets and taking guidance related to our PR firm.

○ Support with data collection of attendance and survey insights from virtual forums and webinars.

○ Assisting with local, state, and national conferences, and meetings.

Knowledge and Product Management

○ Assist with loading our courses (student and adult) and content to online platforms.

○ Review GSN’s curricular units, workshops, and presentations and update according to new standards.

○ Assist with content creation for videos, websites, newsletters, promotional materials, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  • Passionate about helping underserved students.
  • Ability to maintain multiple timelines and projects on a weekly and daily basis and work as part of a dynamic team to ensure the best result.
  • A process-oriented planner, that can design and facilitate plans with high attention to detail, commitment to collaboration and strong communication skills.
  • Experience managing and modifying multiple websites and programs (knowledge of HTML and CSS preferred), across multiple platforms such as SquareSpace, Weebly, Wordpress, etc.
  • Presentation design such as infographics, photos, and testimonials (such as Canva and InDesign).
  • Strong communication skills, including in collaborative meetings, email, phone, etc.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, such as typing, Microsoft Office and Google Suite, email, and online project tracking systems.

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
