Production Worker Shipping and Forklift

This position will support the Shipping Dept in achieving their daily production requirements, on-time delivery, and continuous improvement goals.

Promotes a positive team focused on work environment that emphasizes the company’s values.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May work on day, swing, or split shift
  • Encourages and initiates safe work practices
  • Works closely with the Production Shipping Lead and logistics team to ship orders on time and improve the shipping area.
  • Advisor for the operation & maintenance of the equipment used in shipping.
  • Advisor for the shipping and packaging approach and methods of our products.
  • Set a good example for workmanship and productivity, positive attitude and overall support of company goals and objectives.
  • Enforces company standards and policies for delivery and pickup drivers.
  • Provide support to all areas of the cutting room, including but not limited to slitters saws, 3wheel saws, band saws, bond ups and shipping.
  • Conducts inventories of shipping supplies and works with Production Shipping Lead and Supervisor to order more as needed.
  • Follows production process instructions
  • Interacts and communicates effectively with other departments
  • Conduct daily work in respective areas to increase capacity or backfill vacancies

Requirements

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND CERTIFICATIONS :

  • Ability to read and use a tape measure
  • Ability to receive and interpret instructions and directions from Lead, Supervisors, and peers
  • Must demonstrate good judgment to perform the job correctly and safely
  • Must demonstrate initiative
  • Must have previous forklift experience and certification
  • Familiarity with using a computer, reading and responding to email, and use of ERP software (we use INFOR)
  • Able to remain highly productive with minimal supervision

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

The physical demand for this position requires the employee to be physically capable of working in a variety of environments and weather.

Physical activities include standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, bending, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching.

  • Sitting 10- 50 % of time (often on forklift)
  • Standing 50 % of time
  • Walking 40 % of time
  • Lifting 2 - 50 lbs of various types of components, tools, and equipment
  • Carrying 2 - 50 lbs of various types of components, tools, and equipment
  • Pushing 2 - 100 lbs of various types of components, tools, and equipment
  • Pulling 2 - 100 lbs of various types of components, tools, and equipment

SHIFT

This position requires that you are available for either day or swing shift, and might work a combination of both. We offer a $1.

50 shift premium for anyone on swing shift. Overtime is optional and never mandatory!

PAY STARTS BETWEEN $19.75 - $22.50 / hr PLUS BONUS - DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE
