Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: IT Support provides support to all company users as it relates to computer hardware and software.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Essential functions may include, but are not limited to, the functions listed below)

• Installs, maintains, and upgrades computer hardware and software.
• Provides support to company employees concerning computer issues.
• Provides support on desktop PCs, Laptop computers, Tablets, Cellular Telephones, Printers, Networks, Routers,Hubs, Switches, UPS, Phone Systems, etc.
• Keeps apprised of new technology.
• Provides backup duties to the IT department.
• Follows safe work practices and accident prevention procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

• Non-supervisory position.
• Reports to the IT Manager.
• Requires ability to make sound decisions that are within the guidelines and principles of General Parts andcompatible with prior instructions and experience.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or its equivalent.
• 3-5 years experience working with Windows Operating Systems and a networked environment.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and problem solving skills
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Excellent organizational skills, must be motivated, a self-started, and able to follow through on duties and assignments with minimal supervision

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Normal office environment
• Occasional light lifting of office equipment, supplies, and boxes
• Frequent sitting with occasional walking and standing
• Requires dexterity on use of fingers for the operation of computers and other office equipment
