Len's Excavating "LEI" is searching for an applicant to join our team as an Earthwork Heavy Equipment Operator. LEI is a family-owned and owner operated business serving the front range since 1968. LEI performs medium and large-scale civil construction projects involving over-lot, foundation, compaction, demolition, final grading, utility and specialty earthwork projects. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license, and skills as follows:
Communicate in English
Read grade stakes and understand plans—digital and hard copy
3-5 years’ experience on heavy equipment as follows:
Skid Steer,
Excavator (all types),
Loader,
Blade,
Dozer, and
Water truck
3-5 years’ experience performing tasks as follows:
Read and interpret grade stakes, site markings, maps, blueprints, and/or drawings for soil movement per project specifications
Properly set up and utilize grade control devices within tolerance levels
Mixing and compacting dirt for backfill and compaction testing
Use and understand all safety requirements for excavation and trenching
Convey information and receive information from supervisors and co-workers
Safely operate equipment and maintain active awareness of surroundings to ensure safe distances from potential hazards such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers and/or falling objects
Perform pre and post equipment checks and report equipment issues to supervisors
Maintain assigned equipment and perform daily inspections to ensure compliance with operational and safety requirements including but not limited to checking fuel, oil, and/or hydraulic levels
Perform basic repairs in the event field mechanic is not available
