Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical team. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct patient care, collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and ensure the delivery of high-quality medical care. This is a full-time position with various shifts available.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Medical/Surgical unit
- Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and progress
- Assist with diagnostic procedures such as spinal taps and cardiac catheterizations
- Perform specimen collection processing and ensure accurate labeling
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, pain management, and self-care techniques
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical/surgical nursing principles and practices
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems, such as eClinicalWorks
- Excellent understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
- Ability to provide pain management interventions effectively
- Experience in primary care settings is preferred
- Proficient in suturing techniques for wound closure
- Familiarity with specimen collection processing procedures
- Competency in performing spinal taps and cardiac catheterizations
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse license in [state]
