9-80 Work Schedule (This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off).

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role
Monitor shop work order status and initiate corrective actions as necessary
Provide leadership, coaching, and direction for personnel to ensure customers' needs are met
Participate in status meetings and cross shift meetings as necessary
Provide input on quotations and bids for new work
Ensure personnel are trained/certified to perform operations tasks prior to assignment
Assist Area Manager with approving daily timecards of Prototype Shop personnel
Follow all EHSI, SP, and corporate policies and directives. Also ensure Prototype Shop personnel and visitors do likewise.
Facilitate involvement and development of a Whole System Business Model (WSBM) Team and its members as Team Advisor
Create, maintain, and foster continuous improvement and lean strategies: reduce cycle times and floor inventories, reduce cost and improve employee participation and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications Sought
5-7 years of related experience with Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical
Engineering Technology preferred. Other engineering-related disciplines may be considered.
Significant additional related experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
Must be able to read and interpret drawings, sketches, and schematics to build electrical harnesses and equipment to customer specification
Knowledge of harness fabrication processes and techniques
Knowledge of components used to fabricate electrical harnesses and equipment
Knowledge of electrical fabrication equipment and processes
Knowledge of inspection processes and techniques
Knowledge of metal fabricating equipment and process for building or modifying electrical boxes
Capable of obtaining IPC J-STD-001 Trainer certification
Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Microsoft Visio, Capital Harness, project management skills, lean methodology, and continuous improvement
Ability to Work overtime and 2nd shift as necessary
