Overview

The QP Detail Planning organization is responsible for the maintenance of work orders issued for QP Operations. Upstream Detail Planning organizations issue the initial work orders which can have deficiencies that prevent QP Operations from executing the scope of work. The QP Detail Planning team purpose is to return QP Operations to work by adjudicating work order deficiencies. The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for the direction and oversight of Detail Planners performing maintenance of COLUMBIA Class work orders. The Supervisor will also be responsible for developing process and software solutions using the NX/Teamcenter toolset and other Electric Boat business systems to improve the collective Planning team performance.

Responsibilities:

• Management and oversight of a team of Detail Planners (multi-discipline)
• Execution of organizational goals, including monthly metrics goals, etc.
• Training and development of Detail Planners, including enforcement of procedural compliance, goal setting, and maintenance of Individual Development Plans (IDP)
• Fostering of collaborative relationship with QP Production Control and upstream Detail Planning organizations
• Foster strong collaborative team culture with customer focus
• Contribution to organizational development, including process and procedure development

 This position is located at Quonset Point, North Kingstown Rhode Island

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree required in a relevant field (Engineering, finance, business, other relevant field)
• 8 years of relevant professional experience
• 2 years’ experience managing a staff of 10 plus
• Experience managing time sensitive deliverables
• Experience navigating scheduling and design software such as Solidworks, CATIA, Teamcenter, Artemis, Primavera, Project, etc.
• Experience with earned value management system (EVMS)
• Basic understanding of Planning concepts
• Proven abilities to drive performance improvements not limited to quality, timeliness, and volume
• Proven demonstration of process work flow ownership
• Experience demonstrating critical thinking skills and a proactive problem solving approach 

Preferred:

• 4 years manufacturing environment experience
• Masters Degree preferred
• Project management experience
• Experience with process definition and documentation

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, VISO, etc.)
