In collaboration with the State of Connecticut, Electric Boat offers pre-employment training (EWIB) to get you started on learning the fundamentals of the trade.

With more than a century of experience, Electric Boat has established standards of excellence in the design, construction and lifecycle support of submarines for the US Navy while maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.
Working with various metals, a Shipfitter is required to interpret construction drawings with basic mathematic ability. Job tasks include layout, fabrication, assembly and installation of foundations, structures, components and deck packages.
Work assignments will be accomplished using company drawings, test documents, technical manuals, and shipyard procedures.
Work conditions may include entry in restricted / confined spaces.
