General Dynamics Electric Boat is Hiring a Mechanical Draftsman Near London, CT
Overview
There is presently a need for highly-motivated Mechanical Draftsman with the ability to produce design deliverables from design sketches, layouts and/or concepts to support manufacture, assembly and test. We are looking for candidates with the desire to develop skills through on-the-job experience and continued education to advance in the design profession.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School diploma/GED or Vocational High School diploma
- 2-5 years of relevant Mechanical Design work experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft products
- Demonstrated proficiency in drafting (portfolio) with Computer Aided Design (CAD)
- Ability to perform design related math functions
- Ability to read and interpret written instructions and drawings (blueprints)
- Understanding of Design Standards, Manufacturing Processes and Military Specifications including GD&T
Preferred:
- Experience with CATIA and/or NX
- Familiarity with Design for Six Sigma, Lean Design/Manufacturing
