Overview

This position is located in Honolulu, Hawaii 

The candidate selected must be highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills. The candidate must be task oriented and able to prioritize workload and be responsible for knowledge transfer. In addition, the candidate must be able to cultivate and promote a positive TEAM environment. Candidate should possess demonstrated competency facilitating effective relationships between internal/external customers.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Supervise and manage the Quality Assurance Program personnel
• Assist the Chief Test Engineer (CTE) in the management of the test program to ensure performance to the required levels of quality while meeting established schedule and cost objectives
• Assist the CTE in the direction and coordination of the performance of assigned testing
• Provide technical assistance and the required training to the personnel assigned to perform testing and quality assurance functions
• Impress upon the team the need for quality performance in full compliance with the applicable procedures and instructions
• Maintain stringent controls and coordination of all activities involving reentry and restoration of systems
• Ensure that the CTE is aware of problems relating to successful completion of all testing
• Maintain required paperwork
• Evaluate the performance of personnel and make recommendations for advancement, training or discipline
• Ensure adherence to all Electric Boat policies and procedures
• Review and report staffing needs as required to meet schedules
• Employee may be required to work other than normal hours, to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Shift work and emergent overtime may be required
• Must be able to travel, as required. This position may require business and long term travel as necessary to support the efforts at other EB locations

Qualifications

Required:

• High School Diploma/GED
• 5 years of Shipyard Test experience OR 4 years in the Navy plus shipyard experience
• Applicant must be granted a minimum of an interim secret clearance prior to position commencing
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance through the Department of Defense
• Must be available to work all shifts and extended hours as business needs dictate

Preferred:

• Post High School education
• Naval experience
• Previous experience as a Test Supervisor 
• Experience with the Navy Tagout system, EB Shipboard Tagout System or EB Non-shipboard Lockout/Tagout system
