Position: R&D Lab Intern

Position Summary: Genemarkers is a contract testing lab that specializes in genomics. This position will work with the R&D Services Division that provides testing services to research sponsors in the personal care, pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Under supervision, this position experiments and laboratory-related administrative tasks that fulfill the Company’s needs for the R&D Testing Division. Understanding of data confidentiality principles is compulsory.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the R&D Lab Manager

Responsibilities

• Perform and document all aspects of RNA, DNA, and/or Protein sample processing, data acquisition, and data ANA
• Perform cytotoxicity or tissue/cell viability assays
• Perform other experimental procedures as assigned
• Perform daily lab maintenance as required, scheduled or assigned
• Assist in setting up experiments (i.e. labelling tubes, dispensing reagents, etc.)
• Recognize and report experimental deviations / irregularities
• Assist with preparation of data and data tables for project reports
• Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Perform daily laboratory cleaning and upkeep duties as required, scheduled or assigned
• Provide laboratory management with regular updates regarding project status

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or HS degree with more than 1 year laboratory experience
• Experience and knowledge of laboratory processes and documentation

• Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality

Hours: May be 40 – 48 hours per pay period, core business hours are 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday.
