Genacross Lutheran Services has an immediate opening for a full-time Accountant. This position is responsible for the support of our ministries through financial reporting and budgeting programs. Additional responsibilities will include preparation of journal entries and financial statements, assistance with annual budgets, preparation of other internal and external reporting requirements along with monthly bank reconciliations and year end audit support.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·Provide support through financial reporting and budgeting programs.

·Preparation of journal entries and financial statements.

·Provide assistance with annual budgets

·Provides support for internal and external reporting requirements.

·Assist in the financial month-end close process, including researching, preparing, and posting standard, correcting, and accrual entries.

·Provides support for monthly bank reconciliations and year end audit support.

·Continuous evaluation of current policies and recommendations for process improvements

·Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner

·Assist and support various annual audits.

·Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

·A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.

·Prior experience in a long-term care environment preferred.

·Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

·Excellent written and oral communication skills

·Outstanding organization skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects at a time

·Must successfully complete all background screening requirements.
