Gen Re currently offers an excellent opportunity for a Valuation Actuary –Health and LTC to work in the Actuarial unit based in our Stamford office or performed remotely for appropriatelyqualified individual.

Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilledand experienced Health actuary to join our team as a US Long-Term CareValuation Actuary. In this role, you will be responsible for performingcomprehensive actuarial valuations and analyses related to long-term careinsurance and other health insurance products. Your expertise will contributeto the accurate assessment of reserves, financial projections, and otheractuarial functions specific to long-term care insurance and other healthinsurance products. You will also get a chance to work closely across other USportfolio as a part of US team.

Responsibility

  • Conduct actuarial valuations, including the development and maintenance of actuarial models, to determine reserves and financial liabilities associated with long-term care insurance and other health insurance products.
  • Analyze and interpret data to assess the profitability, risks, and performance of long-term care insurance and other health insurance portfolios.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging practices, and regulatory changes impacting the long-term care insurance sector, and provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Participate in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and presentations related to long-term care insurance valuations and other health products.
  • Engage in actuarial research and analysis to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of long-term care insurance valuations.

Role Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. A professional actuarial designation (e.g., ASA, FSA) is required.
  • Strong knowledge of actuarial principles, practices, and methodologies related to long-term care insurance, and other health insurance products
  • Deep knowledge of industry historical and emerging trends and practices, regulatory changes impacting the long-term care insurance sectors
  • US statutory and US GAAP requirements and industry best practices, including NAIC regulation LDTI, and other relevant Health insurance reserve methodology and requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manipulate and interpret complex data sets.
  • Proficiency in actuarial modeling software, preferably GGY-AXIS.
  • Strong technology skills including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and SQL.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey actuarial concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and quality in actuarial valuations and analyses.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.

Salary Range

103,000.00 - 172,000.00 USD 

Theannual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around theU.S. and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials,education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance,skills and/or training.
