GIS Speech and Language Pathologists are responsible for delivering effective, high-quality, interventions that are data driven. The GIS community holds itself to high standards, cognizant that success can be achieved by all, regardless of challenging circumstances, through team work, tenacity and focused dedication. ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the Student Support Services team to ensure understanding of scholar speech and language performance strengths and needs through evaluation, educational program planning, and service deliveryDesign speech treatment plans and interventions in accordance with Special Education policies and proceduresParticipate in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results, integrate findings with other disciplines, offer recommendations, and develop individualized education plans and intervention plans to achieve IEP goalsProvide targeted, evidence-based therapeutic intervention to facilitate student participation and Speech and Language performance within the school environmentProvide continuing education and in-service training for educational personnel, parents, and community based service providersParticipate in case conferences to discuss student goals and plansConduct Speech and Language EvaluationsComplete required documentation including IEPs, progress reports, and Medicaid billing QualificationsTwo years of experience preferred however willing to hire a clinical fellowGraduate Degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Disorders (Masters’ or Doctorate)Active Speech Language Pathology License in IdahoPeer Pupil Educational Certification the Idaho State Department of Education (preferred)Commitment to working with underserved students (required)Experience working in a public school (preferred)Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work as a member of a teamA deep commitment to develop and contribute to a community of educatorsFlexible and enthusiasticHiring is done without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age or disability.
