GEM Equipment is a leading manufacturer of custom equipment for the food processing industry. We are looking to hire multiple General Workers to support our fast-growing business. No Experience is required for the role. The ideal candidate is eager to learn the production process and is interested in growing with a fast-paced company.

Responsibilities and Duties

Perform general activities related to the manufacturing industry such as loading/unloading, lifting, and moving material around the worksite

Ensure equipment and worksite is organized and free of clutter, rubble, and garbage

Ensure restrooms and office hallways are clean

Assist machine operators, welders, assemblers, and other co-workers

Learn and assist with welding (TIG & MIG)

Ability to calculate material measurements to verify specifications

Ability to perform tasks in a safe manner and maintain a safe work environment

Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and on your own

Ensure all tools are properly maintained and stored

Other general labour and manufacturing-related duties as required

Qualifications and Skills

Employees must:

Be flexible - open to work overtime

Be able to travel if needed is a plus, however, not required

Self-motivated, hard-working, and able to work independently

Be extremely safety conscious

Be respectful of company equipment and property

Have a Valid driver license

Expectations

Good attendance and punctuality

Concern for quality and attention to detail

Willingness to help out where needed

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
