Steel Fabricator/Fitter-Structural Steel (Marietta, Ga)

This job requires a minimum of 5 years of structural steel fitting experience and is not for someone just out of welding school. All applicants will have a fitting and welding test as a part of the selection process. Please read this posting in full prior to applying. The duties of a Fabricator/Fitter includes the gathering of materials by deciphering blueprints and shop drawings, using proper material identification, and processing materials. The position also requires a proficiency in the proper layout and fitting of job components and includes a need for medium to heavy welding. Direct, practical experience in fitting is required.

The processing methods are typical to the trade and encompasses shearing, punching, torching, band saw cutting, plasma cutting, & welding. The welding function includes a proficiency in MIG welding on both horizontal and vertical surfaces. Welding certification is a plus and a welding test will be administered for viable applicants. Direct experience in fitting is required.

Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 3:00pm. Report time is 5:50 am with some required overtime as dictated by job deadlines. The appropriate attire for this position is dependent on the season, but will consist of blue jeans, leather boots, safety glasses and gloves. Personal tools and proper PPE is required.

Direct, practical experience in fitting is required. The rate of pay is directly based on experience and abilities. For qualified applicants, the range will be from $20.00 to $30.00 per hour plus some overtime based on need. After a 90 day probationary period, we offer three paid personal days to be used at your discretion, paid holidays and a performance review. After 1 year’s continual employment, you will receive a week’s paid vacation plus the standard three personal days.
