Job Summary:

Site Managers are the primary representative for Gebhardt USA during the installation, commissioning, and startup of a project. The Site Manager manages the coordination and completion of automated material handling system projects with increasing levels of complexity, scope, and budget.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Senior Project Manager and/or sales as applicable.
  • Plan, lead and direct the Installation team assigned to the current project.
  • Review and update the project schedule daily with all various contractors. Oversee a planned daily review meeting with contractors. Discuss & document within the Daily Status Report (DSR) any changes as they occur related to the schedule and advise appropriate team members of changes.
  • Read and understand the Functional Specifications Document (FSD) and the Request for Quote (RFQ) for projects. Review the RFQ with installers prior to arrival at site, review physical installation and review issues with contractors immediately. Document any concerns in the DSR.
  • Maintain a thoroughly clean and organized job site.
  • Organize vendor files, ensuring the files, paperwork & drawings are up to date and easy to find.
  • Thoroughly understand the project’s critical milestones from installation through start-up testing and acceptance testing.
  • Participate in meetings and communications with clients. Document any client issues and notify all appropriate Gebhardt departments. Respond to all requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the final check of equipment layouts and provide input into installation contractor selection.
  • Develop and maintain an installation and commission checklist.
  • Inventory equipment when received against the pack list or bill of materials. Identify discrepancies and work to resolve them. Document damage. Prepare laydown areas, document damage, and notify management and the purchasing department immediately.
  • Manage subcontractor personnel and hold them to Gebhardt and customer standards.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Manage costs and installation time based on goals/budgets received from Project Manager.
  • Assure all deliverables are on time, on budget and within scope.
  • Works directly with Gebhardt associates, clients, supplier partners and other service providers in connection with project deliverables.
  • Responsible for developing, delivering, and leading discussions pertaining to reports for Gebhardt management and client leadership.
  • Recognize issues before they become major complications. Identify root causes and immediately work towards a resolution with appropriate team members.
  • All other duties & responsibilities assigned by management.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technical Field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of project & site management experience, preferably with distribution centers and warehouse automation.
  • Past installation and project experience with ASRS, robotics, AGV, AMR, mini-load, shuttles, conveyors, sorters, controls, and software a big plus.
  • Knowledge of material handling, warehouse management systems, fulfillment or distribution center operations, and supply chain logistics.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Occasionally climb as high as 50ft. using a safety harness.
  • Able to travel to and from job sites when required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
