Your responsibilities and tasks:

Position summary:

Responsible for assisting in research and development of chemical-hygiene products related to animal health, hygiene, and care. The initial areas of focus will be in the fields of cleaning of stainless steel surfaces (primarily clean-in-place systems) in Monobox and DQP and the development of new lower cost AMS teat dips.

  • Produce laboratory quantities of experimental products and perform laboratory tests on those products. Laboratory tests will include various titrations (i.e. reduction/oxidation) and measurements (i.e. theology and pH).
  • Provide information in the form of measurable data to the R&D Chemists.
  • Evaluate laboratory test results to develop new concepts, products, and to improve existing products.
  • Produce data in the form of Excel tables from the laboratory tests. Provide interpretation of that data to R&D.
  • Other assignments as necessary to support the laboratory operation and product support process.
  • Work with and interact with QA laboratory personnel, manufacturing personnel, marketing and sales personnel, and other company personnel in the normal course of day-to-day business.

  • Language skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data and results in English. Ability to write reports with data in a clear manner.
  • Computer Skills: Ability to use Microsoft Office, with specific emphasis on Excel and Word to generate research reports-matrices. Ability to work with Outlook, databases and Power point presentations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Travel: No Travel required.

  • The employee must also be able to handle various chemicals in a laboratory setting and be able to work with machinery to produce prototype products. A wide variety of chemicals will be used and the employee is expected to understand, utilize, and enforce proper safety.

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in a Science area like chemistry or biology from a four-year College or University
  • 0-2 of related work experience
