Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AI/Computer Vision Engineer to join our Engineering Lean team. As a key contributor to our innovation and transformation efforts, you will play a pivotal role in designing and building robust computer vision products that can address a business need. The
ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of machine learning, neural networks, and computer vision techniques, along with a passion for tackling complex problems and creating market-leading products.
As a director software engineer, you will apply your knowledge of management, software development methodologies, best practices, and proven processes to lead teams to deliver a quality software product on budget, within planned schedule with superb quality.

Job Description

About The Job

  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of computer vision algorithms that are effective and efficient.

  • Develop deep learning models for real-time OCR, object detection, segmentation, and tracking.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/Computer Vision technology into our products and solutions.

  • Conduct research and stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field to ensure our technology remains cutting-edge.

  • Mentor junior engineers and lead by example, promoting a culture of technical excellence.

  • Drive the end-to-end machine learning lifecycle, including data collection, model training, and deployment.

  • Troubleshoot and optimize AI systems for performance and scalability.

  • Document and present best practices and development processes.

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with significant experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the design and deployment of AI models, particularly deep learning and computer vision.

  • Strong programming skills in Python, Java, C , or other programming languages. Experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras).

  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and edge computing.

  • Proven track record of solving complex problems with real-world data.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Understanding of full stack platform concepts and technologies.

  • Recognizes patterns and complexity in problems. Extracts decomposition algorithms, and strategically plans how to execute programs by understanding how best to decompose to expose / protect against risk.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Publications or a strong portfolio of projects in computer vision or related fields.

  • Experience with 3D computer vision and sensor fusion.

  • Knowledge of GPU programming and optimization.

  • Experience with deploying AI solutions in embedded systems.

  • Establishes vision, identifies and champions internal/external best practices, tools, and ideas to improve execution and quality.

  • Able to verbalize what is behind decisions and downstream implications. Continuously reflecting on success and failures to improve performance and decision-making. Understands when change is needed. Participates in technical strategy planning.

  • Innovates and integrates new processes and/or technology to significantly add value to GE. Identifies how the cost of change weighs against the benefits and advises accordingly. Proactively learns new solutions and processes to address seemingly unanswerable problems.

  • Takes on technical challenges and direct the team to achieve a high level of understanding of the platform and industrial use cases.
