Overview:

This position is responsible for the technical oversight and leadership of a group that provides reliability engineering, project management, and operational support services for Electric Distribution Operations.

The work location can be based out of Louisville, Lexington, London or Midway, KY depending on the candidate's preference.

Responsibilities:

Establishes and manages section goals and objectives and an operation plan and annual budget consistent with department strategies.

Administers Company and departmental policies and procedures.

Provides employee development opportunities through periodic job performance reviews and progress assessments and a wide variety of assignments.

Evaluates performance and recommends appropriate compensation for exempt employees within reporting group.

Identifies and implements opportunities for improvement and/or suggests improved methods.

Represents company in industry organization(s) such as ECAR, EEI, and EPRI.

Performs and/or oversees studies that determine the best way to implement major capital investments.

Develops cost estimates and schedules for feasibility studies, budget proposals, and approved projects.

Ensures projects are managed to the approved scope, schedule, and budget.

Oversees, performs, and assists in performing studies requiring high degree of technical expertise.

Represents company in various regulatory and legal proceedings as required.

Provides counsel to department's internal and external customers regarding vital technical topics.

Provides technical guidance to engineers, operating personnel, and maintenance personnel based on extensive acquired knowledge.

Directs the activities of engineers, technicians, and others assigned to specific projects or work groups as necessary.

Conducts work activities with regard to environmental rules and regulations.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

ABET accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications Relevant post baccalaureate degree. Ability to analyze and solve engineering problems from a business perspective.
