Job Overview:
GDCR is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join the firm’s Education Group. As a Litigation Attorney, you will primarily represent our clients in civil lawsuits and provide advice to clients on various transactional matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney to contribute significantly to public sector clients.
Duties:
- Conduct legal research and analysis to provide accurate and timely advice to clients
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and contracts
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including appeals, hearings, and depositions
- Assist in the negotiation of settlements
- Provide timely, accurate, and responsive legal advice to clients
- Be a team player
- Embrace the challenge of assisting public sector clients with the task of compliance with numerous federal and Georgia legal requirements
Experience:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Georgia bar association
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Litigation Attorney
- Professional knowledge of the federal and Georgia rules of civil procedure
- Experience with discovery in both federal and Georgia courts
- Experience with drafting and filing motions in both federal and Georgia courts
