Type of Requisition: Regular Clearance Level Must Currently Possess: Top Secret SCI Polygraph Clearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: Top Secret SCI Polygraph Suitability: Public Trust/Other Required: None Job Family: Systems Administration Job Qualifications: Skills: Computer Servers, Customer Service, Software Installations, System Administration, System Backups Certifications: Experience: 6 years of related experience US Citizenship Required: Yes Job Description: JOB PROFILE SUMMARY (INTERNAL REFERENCE ONLY): Maintains an organization's computer systems' workflows and is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, including fixing network issues along with updating equipment and software Provide technical support in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures Troubleshoots moderately complex system hardware and software issues Trains end users on the proper use of hardware and software Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels Ensures workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions Ensure data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines Ensures that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users May evaluate existing systems and assist with planning long-term strategies May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals May serve as a team or task lead EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree, 3 years of experience Job Description Systems Administrator Senior Transform technology into opportunity as a Systems Administrator Senior with GDIT. Our work depends on Systems Administrator Senior joining our team to: Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers. Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system-wide software, and allocates mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization objectives. Contributes to completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources. Works under very general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work may be reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
