Position Title: Groundskeeping Supervisor/Senior Manager
Location: GCRE Facilities Management, St. Louis
Position Type: Full-time
Overview: GCRE Facilities Management in St. Louis is seeking a dedicated and experienced Groundskeeping Supervisor/Senior Manager to oversee all aspects of grounds maintenance and landscaping operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horticulture, landscaping, and team leadership, with a passion for maintaining outdoor spaces to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervision and Leadership: Directly manage a team of groundskeepers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure the efficient and effective execution of all landscaping tasks.
2. Landscaping Operations: Oversee the planning and execution of landscaping projects, including planting, pruning, fertilizing, irrigation, and pest control, to maintain the aesthetic appeal and health of all outdoor spaces.
3. Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement comprehensive grounds maintenance schedules, including mowing, trimming, edging, and debris removal, to ensure the cleanliness and safety of all exterior areas.
4. Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of the groundskeeping budget, monitoring expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
5. Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized services such as tree care, turf management, and equipment maintenance, ensuring timely completion of work within budgetary constraints.
6. Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards related to groundskeeping activities, including proper use of equipment, chemical handling, and adherence to environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or related field preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in groundskeeping or landscaping, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
· Strong knowledge of plant care, pest management, irrigation systems, and landscaping techniques.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources efficiently, and adapt to changing priorities.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and landscaping software/tools.
· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
