Job Summary

GBC International Bank is looking for an SBA Underwriter who will be responsible for underwriting new SBA guarantee term loans in a competitive and expedient manner while complying with the bank’s SBA underwriting standards, policies, and applicable state federal laws rules and regulations. Ensures the needs of a borrower are met by underwiring the appropriate type of loan. 

Essential Job Functions

• Underwrite SBA guaranteed term loans and ensure the SBA eligibility, within SBA SOP guidelines for SBA guarantee and within GBC’s credit guidelines.
• Conduct financial spread and cash flow analysis.
• Conduct SBA term loan review and propose risk rating upgrade/downgrade if applicable.
• Assist to package and close SBA guaranteed loans as a team.
• Assist to keep the SOP up-to-date and provide SBA guidance and assistance to other Underwriters, Credit Analyst, Processors and Marketing Officers.
• Assist to send out credit covenants reminders to SBA loan customers for collecting tax returns and financials for term loan review.
• Assist to prepare or coordinate for SBA Desk Audit and PLP renewal 
• Comply with all BSA related training and procedures.
• May have other assignments as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Must have over 3 years of SBA underwriting experience. Previous work-related skill, knowledge or experience is required.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Be detail oriented and well organized.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.
• Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.

Education:

Associates Degree and related on the job experience required.
