Architectural Designer / Technician
GBA, a professional, full service architectural, engineering and construction firm is seeking a qualified candidate to fill an architectural position for the Life Sciences group. This group specializes in the work in the Pharma/Bio-Pharma industry and serves many of the top companies as an integrated team of architects, engineers, commissioning specialists, and builders. Job Description:
GBA is offering a long-term career opportunity for a junior architectural professional. This individual should have the desire to further develop their diversity of architectural expertise including planning, design, construction technology, documentation and 3D modelling. He/she will collaborate with market leaders and subject matter experts to explore design solutions and innovations that align with our clients’ expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Work with team members in creating buildings which serve the client’s needs and responds to their desired image, space and aesthetic
- Work with market segment leaders or project manager to develop code compliant designs.
- Participate in design presentations to clients
- Participate in preparing and developing construction documents
- Work with engineering disciplines to ensure consistent development of projects from design concept stage to construction document stage
- Participate in facility evaluations, assessments, engineering studies, and trouble shooting
- Develop and implement graphic standards for 3D visualization and renderings.
- Assist marketing department in preparation of design documents and graphic presentation material.
Requirements:
- 5 years or more of relevant work experience
- Bachelor or Architecture OR Equivalent Experience
- Proficiency in Revit and Autocad
- 3D massing and rendering knowledge preferred
- BS in Architectural Engineering
- Organizational skills with an attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Interest working in a collaborative team environment
