Gawron Turgeon Architects, P.C. is an award-winning firm in Scarborough, Maine offering integrated professional services: architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and master planning. We specialize in senior living, banks/credit unions, corporate office buildings, medical offices, healthcare facilities, auto dealerships, mixed use developments and multi-family housing.

GTA is a mid-sized firm that employs a great group of talented designers and support team members. We pride ourselves on working hard for our clients to create mutual success. At GTA, we enjoy collaborating with each other and partnering on projects in our dog-friendly office.

We are currently seeking a Construction Administrator with 10 years of experience to join our creative team. Working under the guidance of a project architect or principal, this position will focus on construction administration of commercial, multi-family and healthcare facilities. The Construction Administrator will also work on other projects, preparing specifications, coordinating project documents and participating in project planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce construction documents and oversee construction administration with minimal supervision
  • Coordinate with the project team to ensure project completion is in compliance with contract documents and project manual, and that the project meets all regulatory requirements and building codes
  • Work with owners, general contractors, engineers and other professional staff, monitoring the progress of the work to the schedule, budgeted project costs and project inspections
  • Support the staff, project managers and project architects’ efforts on their projects
  • Ability to travel to project sites during construction
  • Participate in the review of submittals and shop drawings; able to respond to RFIs
  • Work with AIA contracts/documents and construction management software

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, project management or other relevant field
  • Strong understanding of the construction industry
  • Strong technical expertise, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Some experience with AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, Bluebeam and Procore
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Self-motivated, organized and efficient
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and manage priorities effectively
  • Some knowledge of senior living and/or healthcare not required but a plus. We are willing to train the right person for the position

Required Education: B.S. or B.A. in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or other relevant field

Salary: Compensation is based on experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
