Gatik’s Class 3-7 autonomous box trucks are commercially deployed in multiple markets including Texas, Arkansas, and Ontario, Canada.

About the role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Engineering Procurement Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of project management principles, supply chain systems, and processes, and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You will play a critical role in the development and deployment of Gatik’s self-driving trucks. To achieve this, you will use your unique mix of technical, creative, and interpersonal skills and coordinate cross-functionally with engineering, finance, and procurement.

This role is onsite 4 days a week at our Mountain View, CA office!

What you'll do:

Support engineering functions in the design process and procurement functions. Work closely with the engineering team during development and NPI to ensure timely purchase of materials
Quote, negotiate, and secure orders of materials to support production and other internal requirements
Manage risks and requirements at the product level across the full life cycle (feasibility, design, ramp, release-for-volume, and phase-down)
Drive and support project execution
Search, locate, and approve new vendors, wherever applicable, with support from engineering
Evaluate supplier options and procurement strategies for time efficiency and cost
Accountability. Work closely with suppliers to resolve technical issues and develop sustainable manufacturing processes to satisfy part and program requirements
Must be familiar with and able to negotiate key legal terms as it pertains to development and production agreements
Update and maintain accurate standard costs & accurate vendor lead times
Understand the technology roadmap of critical suppliers and communicate with the relevant stakeholders
Excel under pressure while dealing with changing priorities and timeline

What we're looking for:

Bachelor's degree in engineering supply chain management or a related field
5 years of work experience in new product introductions preferably in high-tech, low-volume environments
2 years of relevant experience in Project Management
Stakeholder management: deal effectively with internal and external stakeholders both at operational and executive levels
PLM experience required
Contracts or Subcontracts experience
Familiar with ERP systems like Oracle or SAP etc
Ability to read and comprehend engineering prints and 3D CAD models
Strong coordination & collaboration ability with internal customers
