Crematory Operations
Pay Rate: $19/hr
Work Hours: Mon-Fri 7:30am-4pm
Location: Final Gift Pet Memorial Center (2 Daniels Way, Cranston, RI)

Job Overview

The Operations Team Member, reporting into the Operations Care Center Manager, is responsible for various activities ranging from operation of the retort, creating and packaging paw prints, engraving plaques and memorial items and processing and packaging cremated remains. The position works with a close-knit team within a care center.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Cleans the front end of building which includes Vacuum, Dusting, bathroom and empties all the trash. Starts early before we open.
• Laundry from previous day
• Does all our supply orders
• He boxes all the shipments after hope gets them prepared.
• Hours of Urning ( opens and pairs the urn with the ashes and includes paw prints and jewelry as well) this role is very important to ensure that we are highly effective in getting returns on time.
• Unloads the van every day after we do our warehouse runs.
• Walks the facility outside daily picking up trash that has been dumped or blown into.
• In the winter he makes sure sidewalks are cleared of snow and ice and putting down ice melt to ensure customers and employees are safe.
• Prepares the area for witnesses by sweeping and moping. Moving stuff out and putting up the dividers and removing once witness has been completed.

May also possibly assist with:

• Perform a variety of daily duties such as; operating the retort, creating, and packaging paw prints, engraving plaques and memorial items, quality control, and processing and packaging cremated remains or what may be required from the Team Member from time-to-time.
• Maintain daily cremation goals, producing cremains with an emphasis on compassion and excellence.
• Monitor equipment to ensure the process is working properly, making adjustments as needed and submits maintenance requests.
• Perform basic cleaning and housekeeping activities such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
• Clean and maintain equipment used in cremation procedures such as machines that grind bones into powder.
• Follow safety procedures to protect themselves and others from exposure to hazardous materials or dust particles.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education, Training & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 12 months experience in a service industry
• Valid Driver License may be required

• Regular handling of deceased pets.
