Gateway Hotel & Conference Center is Hiring a Rooms Operations Intern Near Ames, IA

Job Purpose: Rotate between various duties in each of our Rooms Division areas, including Housekeeping, Front Desk, Facilities and other areas as scheduled to gain knowledge and optimize training opportunities.

Essential Functions:

Learn and execute primary responsibilities of the following roles: Room Attendant, Laundry Attendant, Porter, Houseperson, Guest Services Representative, Maintenance Technician and Groundskeeper
Gain knowledge and work in the capacity of Supervising daily operations of Rooms division departments
Assist Department Managers with special projects
Responsible for ensuring first class hospitality is being delivered in an enthusiastic manner that exceeds guest expectations

Requirements:

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Professional appearance and dress (dress code is mandatory)
Candidates must have the ability to work with minimal supervision
Able to stand, twist, bend, push, pull, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis for extended periods of time
May be asked to carry out duties outside of the normal sphere of work as reasonably requested by Management
All internship candidates must be applying to meet school requirements or experience for the internship, and be enrolled in a related field of study
Able to work average of 30 hours throughout 12-week internship, including nights & weekends
