We are currently seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team! You will be responsible for completing work orders and other required tasks. Responsibilities: * Performs labor and custodial duties including cleaning hallways, laundry rooms, common areas, vacant apartments, and other areas, collecting and transporting garbage, and cleaning walls, appliances, floors, carpets, windowsills, etc. * Performs and assists Building Superintendents in a variety of tasks related to the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and landscaped areas. * Operates riding and small power mowers, gas powered weed eaters, and grounds hand tools such as rakes, pole pruners, hand pruners, and shovels. * Operates vehicle to transport supplies, or materials. If you own a car or truck that is a plus! * Performs and assists with preparation and painting of various types of surfaces using interior and exterior paints. * Performs and assists supervisors in maintenance and repairs to items constructed of wood, concrete, metal, timber, stone, and other miscellaneous materials using basic hand and power tools. * Assists with replacing elements to buildings, residences, and equipment such as boards, fencing, siding, faucets, and mower blades. * In winter months duties will include snow shoveling, snow-blowing, snowplowing, and snow removal to include salting both by hand and with mechanical spreader. * Complete work and repair orders in a timely fashion * Estimate time and extent of repairs * Perform routine preventive maintenance * Maintain material and supply inventory * Oversee work performed by outside contractors as necessary ​ Qualifications: * Previous experience in maintenance or other related fields * Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment * Ability to handle physical workload * Deadline and detail-oriented Job location: Staten Island, NY - You will be assigned, as needed, to several properties managed by Gateway Arms Realty Corp. Pay rate: $16.00/hr. to $20.00/hr.
